Jack was born in Longmont Colorado to Sue Ann
Kelling of Lyons and Billy Royce Platz of Moffatt Colorado. Sue Ann married John Frysig of Lyons when Jack was 4 years old and John was always a dad to Jack. A Lyons childhood brought playing outside everyday, bicycling, handfishing and hide n seek at night. Meadow park was a great swimming hole, hanging out with friends.
Jack was an incredible athlete who excelled in all sports. His friends still talk about his excellent ball handling skills. One of his biggest dreams came true playing in the Lyons Lions Football State Champion game in 1974. He loved driving his
Shelby Mustang and what a thrill it was to ride in! He was a ditchrider, delivery person, and welder on the pipeline at Prudhoe Bay.
Later in his 20s, mental illness would see his family heartbroken, but in true form he wasn't heavy, he was our brother. The family did their best to ensure Jack had a good life. He was a kind and generous person. He was a great Uncle to be around and they learned a lot from his presence.
Jack is survived by his sisters, Cindy (Longmont),
Bebe and Jon (Fairbanks), Pam and Bob (North Pole), and brother Billy and Shayne (Fairbanks), his niece, Katie and Darin (Loveland), nephews, Scott (Palmer Lake), Brent (Longmont), Mathias (Nevada), Sam (Fairbanks), Uncles and Aunts, Tim and Lynda
Kelling (Longmont) and Millie and Dave Smith (Loveland). His loving great nieces, Lily (big hugger, picture maker), Aubrey, Winter, Eden, Emily, great nephew, Bear, and many cousins.
One of Jack's football teammates, Ramon Vasquez, said before he passed he was starting a football team in heaven and would look forward to seeing the State Champion Football Team and they would be busy in heaven playing football, basketball and baseball. So, Jack we miss you dearly, but we know where you are and what you're doing!
