

He served in the United States Navy during WWII on Johnson Island. He married Betty Carmichael on July 25, 1948 in North Platte, NE. They moved to Longmont in 1973.
Jack drove a truck for more than 32 years, having been employed by Interstate Systems. He also worked as a security guard at the St. Vain Power Plant. After he retired he delivered flowers for his nephew until he was 81 years young.
His passion was family, friends and his faith. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, bird watching, his backyard and the gold fish pond. Jack was a marvelous baker and took pride in baking wedding cakes for many of his family members.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Sutton of Longmont, his brother Robert (Mary) Sutton of Bradenton, FL. his children Judy (Joe) Reichert, of Alberta, Canada, Stephen (Karla) of Fresno, CA Aaron (Lori) of Redmond, OR Karen (Chris) Vigil, of Frederick, Doug (Maria) of Longmont, 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2011 from 1:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Howe Mortuary and one hour prior to services at the Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2011 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Stake Center, 1721 Red Cloud Rd., Longmont. Burial will be at 1:15 p.m. on Monday, November 14, Staging Area C, Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, CO.
