

James A. Casey, 96, of Longmont passed away at the Bridge Assisted Living on Saturday, February 20, 2016. James was born on December 6, 1919 in Coalgate, Oklahoma to Sylvester W. and Lucy Emma (Parsons) Casey.He served in the US Marine Corps during WWII enlisting on Sept. 22, 1942 and was stationed in the Pacific Theater of operations. He was honorably discharged on Oct. 25, 1945.James married Clara Wagner in Fort Collins, CO on May 22, 1947. They moved to Longmont in 1962.He worked for Mountain Bell and then US West, retiring in 1983.James was a dedicated member of Our Savior's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and traveling with Clara in their small motorhome.James is preceded in death by his wife, Clara Casey; his parents; four sisters Lucille, Vivian, Pansy and Olga; and an infant brother Wallace.He is survived by his son, Jack Casey (Rhonda) of Longmont; his daughter, Karen Bianco (Michael) also of Longmont; three grandchildren, Aaron Bianco (Meredith), Blake Bianco (Beth), and Tiffany Casey (fiancé Seth Schell); and four great grandchildren, Ella, Ellis, Brianna and Bailey Bianco.Private interment at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held 1:30pm Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Our Savior's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Longmont.
