With heavy hearts and profound appreciation for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Jim, a beloved husband, father, and friend to many. Jim peacefully departed this world on May 2, 2026, at the age of 75, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. A celebration of life will be held this summer.
Born on March 2, 1951, Jim's journey through life began in an era of change and hope, a spirit he carried with him throughout his days. He grew up with a keen intellect and a determination to make a difference. Jim pursued his passion for science and healing, graduating from the University of Wyoming in 1974 with a degree in Pharmacy. His thirst for knowledge led him to further studies at the University of Wisconsin, the University of Colorado, and Colorado State University, where he expanded his expertise and enriched his understanding of the world.
Jim's career as a pharmacist spanned several decades, during which he dedicated his skills and compassion to various pharmacies, culminating in a rich and impactful career. His colleagues and customers alike remember him not just for his professionalism but for his warmth and unwavering kindness. Jim had a unique ability to connect with people; he never forgot a name and told the most captivating stories, often leaving those around him laughing with his quick wit and great sense of humor.
In 1985, atop Flagstaff Mountain in Boulder, Jim married the love of his life, Mary Beth. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared countless adventures. Their daughter, Lara, was a light in Jim's life, and he took immense pride in her accomplishments.
Outside of his professional life, Jim found great joy in the outdoors, the arts, and the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid and passionate skier, gliding down the snow-covered slopes with a grace that belied his years. He also loved to play the piano, filling his home with music that resonated with his vibrant spirit.
Jim's presence in our lives was a gift, and though he is no longer with us, his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the incredible life he lived—a life filled with love, laughter, and a profound impact on everyone he met.
Jim's family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Tru Inpatient Hospice for their exceptional care and support during his final days. Their kindness and dedication provided comfort and peace, for which the family is eternally thankful. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Jim’s memory be made to trucare.org as a way to continue his legacy of kindness and generosity.
Jim, we will always remember your stories, your laughter, and the joy you brought into our lives. Rest in peace.
