Jean Margie Felix

Jean Margie Felix of Longmont died February 12, 2007 at Hospice Care, Louisville. She was 81.Jean was born on Staten Island, New York August 2, 1925 to Arthur Grant Simonson and Emily Monk. After high school, she attended nursing school, receiving her nursing degree.On August 15, 1978 she married Gus Felix in Yonkers, New York.Mrs. Felix worked for a number of years as a Registered Nurse at Cross County Hospital in Yonkers, N.Y. She moved to Longmont from New York in 2005.Mrs. Felix was an avid shopper and enjoyed finding a good sale at local malls. She was a true dog lover and at one point had adopted five dogs. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, doing the New York Times crossword puzzle and visiting local casinos with her friends.Preceding her in death was her husband.Surviving are her sons Jeff Hertzog of Longmont, and Steve Hertzog and his wife Kathy of Longmont, two granddaughters Samantha and Jessica Hertzog of Longmont.Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 15, 2007 at the Howe Mortuary Chapel, with Deacon Bob Howard of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.Cremation will follow the services.Contributions may be made to the Hospice of Boulder and Broomfield Counties, 2594 Trailridge Dr. East, Suite A., Lafayette, CO 80026.
