

Jean Marie Sloan, 91, of Longmont, CO passed away on November 23, 2016 in Longmont. Jean was born in Butler, PA to Paul and Loretto Schnur on May 12, 1925. She was married to Navy Veteran, Robert Sloan, for 42 years. Jean and Robert, along with two of their sons, moved to Longmont in 1984. Jean began working for the Longmont Police Department shortly after moving and enjoyed many years supporting her officers. After retiring, she spent many more years volunteering for the Longmont Police Department in the records department. She has been a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for 32 years. Besides attending church, she enjoyed dancing, playing bingo, traveling, and spending as much time as possible with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports and was an avid football and baseball fan. Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sloan, her brothers, Richard Schnur and John Schnur, and her sisters, Donna Sarver and Nancy Daye. Jean is survived by her sons James Nebel and his partner Robert Morrow of West Palm Beach, FL., Robert Nebel and his wife Jennifer of Erie, CO., daughter, Jeanne Conklin of Firestone, CO., sons, Joseph Sloan and his wife Tammy of Broomfield, CO., Richard Sloan and his wife Suzie of Broomfield, CO., Alan Sloan and his wife Tris, of Longmont, CO., 16 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, Jean would like all contributions made to the Longmont Police Department. Donations will be collected and distributed by Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. The family of Jean would like to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses at Longmont United Hospital for their special care and attention to Jean and her family. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel located at 326 Terry St., Longmont, CO 80501. Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 in Longmont, CO at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church located at 323 Collyer St., Longmont, CO 80501.
