

Jennie S. Vigil of Longmont, CO died May 6, 2008 at the Hospice Care Center in Louisville. She was 73.Jennie was born October 29, 1934 in Johnstown, Colorado to Alfredo A. Arguello and Donaciana Vela-Arguello. From the age of 9 she grew up and attended school in Longmont. Jennie married Patrick S. Vigil on August 24, 1957 in Longmont, but the couple later divorced.Jennie raised three sons on her own making sure that the things they needed were provided for. She worked at the sugar factory, the canning factory, for Longmont Foods, was a cocktail waitress, and a steam presser for dry cleaning businesses. Jennie was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She liked looking after others and taking care of them and would give to charities, especially ones that were beneficial to children. The family relied on Jennie to organize and coordinate family gatherings throughout the years and will be greatly missed.Jennie was preceded in death by her parents; three bothers: Ted, Marcum, and Pete Arguello; a sister, Phyllis Mendez; and a granddaughter, Savanna Marie Theede. She is survived by three sons: Benjamin P. Vigil and his wife Amy of Estes Park, CO, Christopher Alan and John J. Vigil both of Longmont; three bothers: Bernie Arguello and his wife Sophie of Green River, WY, her twin brother Archie Arguello of Longmont, and Alfredo Arguello of Iowa Park, TX; five sisters: Carol Parrish of Longmont; Rose Padilla of Denver, Maryann DeHerrera and her husband Fred of Longmont, Cheila Garrett and her husband Bart of Lochbuie, CO and Lucy Arguello of Longmont; seven grandchildren: Anthony, Adrian, Jordan, Angel, Jennie, and Maggie; two great grandchildren: Naomi Grace and Arlo Benjamin; and numerous nieces and nephews including Shawn Arguello who has taken care of and looked after her aunt.Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 11 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Howe Mortuary with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 12 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Reverend Servando Navarro as celebrant.
