Jerry was born in Enid, Oklahoma to Marietta and Marion Wells on July 3, 1942. He graduated from Kremlin High School in Kremlin Oklahoma in 1960. Jerry graduated with 12 classmates and remained close friends with a couple of them throughout his life. Jerry’s best friend described Jerry as incredibly smart and a hard worker. He noted that even though Jerry would have to go home frequently to help his father during school, he maintained excellent grades and could memorize anything. After graduation, he moved to Colorado and married Donna Bleyenberg in April of 1963 and had 2 children, Jerry Lee Wells and Linda Marie Wells Shubert. Jerry worked for his uncle, Dale Cessna, doing drywall after high school. He later worked for a machine shop where he learned all he could. Jerry began his career at Ball Aerospace in 1978. Jerry was a part of the team that built the IRAS satellite that launched in 1982. Jerry met his wife, Nancy Prestien, at Ball and they were married in 1989.
Jerry was not only a skilled machinist, he was also an intelligent businessman. He and his wife, Nancy, became very active in the Real-estate business, owning several rentals. Jerry and Nancy enjoyed trips to South Fork, CO in their motorhome and camping with friends and family. Jerry was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He spent his free time watching the kids in their activities and going to the coin store. Jerry also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, going fishing, and having Wednesday breakfast with the guys. Jerry also loved the Lord and was baptized with his granddaughter in 2002.
Jerry A. Wells is preceded in death by his father, Marion Wells and mother, Marietta Wells, sister, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jerry A. Wells is survived by his wife Nancy Wells, his 2 children, Jerry Lee Wells, Linda Marie Wells Shubert, 3 stepchildren, Michelle, James, and Stacy, 12 grandchildren and 20 great-Grandchildren, brother, Edward E Wells.
The family would like to thank Halcyon Hospice for all they have done the last few months. We would especially like to thank, Nurse, Danielle. Jerry didn’t always get along with medical professionals, but he listened to her.
A celebration of life will be held at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel on December 2, 2021, at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Mount View Cemetery at 1:00pm. Flowers can be sent to Alberg Funeral Chapel 326 Terry St, Longmont, CO 80501. In lue of flowers, listen to your loved ones' stories and spend time with them as often as you can, they are more important than you realize.
