

Jess was born on December 30, 1928 in Sudan, Texas to Jess R. Ross and Emma Catherine Smith Ross. He married Pauline King on October 8, 1950 in Clovis, New Mexico.
Raised in west Texas, he learned hard work at an early age. He worked in the construction trade, learning to operate heavy equipment. He retired from International Union of Operating Engineers Local No. 9.
Jess enjoyed motorcycles from a young age, purchasing his first Harley-Davidson in 1950. He was an avid antique collector, selecting a number of items at various sales in the area. For a number of years he raised smaller farm animals, including chickens and pheasants. In quiet time, he enjoyed fishing.
Jess was a family man, adoring his children and grandchildren. A heartfelt thanks goes to Martha Mata for keeping Jess young at heart after the loss of his wife.
Preceding him in death are his wife Pauline Ross; daughter Jerri Ross; grandson John John Ross; sister Margaret Evelyn Hodges; and brothers William and Paul Ross.
Surviving are his sons Jesse (Cindy) Ross of Longmont; Dan (Karen) Ross of Craig, Colorado; and Kenny (Vicky) Ross of Sweetwater, Texas; a daughter Donna Ross of Firestone; 10 grandchildren; Corey, Celina, Jessica, Danny Boy, Jonie, Stacie, Ruben, Lawrence, Ruby, Arian and Felicia, 22 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 10 at Tri-Town Baptist Church in Evanston, CO. Officiating will be Pastor Don Veazy.
Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Erie, Colorado.
