John Fred Bustamante

John Fred Bustamante, 72, of Boulder, died April 29, 2010 at Boulder Community Hospital. John was born February 25, 1938 in Longmont, CO, the son of Edwardo and Isidora (Olguin) Bustamante. On January 6, 1962 he married Dorothy Berniger in Longmont, CO.John worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Boulder as a mail carrier for 30 years. He retired in 1998 at the ago of 60. He was known to his family and close friends as the ""everyday hero"", for his concern and compassion for others and his ever present heart of gold. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Felix, Louis and one sister Grace Torrez.Survivors include his wife Dorothy of Boulder, his sons Louis (Dolores) Bustamante, Broomfield, and John (Rachel) Bustamante, Erie; his daughters JoAnne Bustamante, Broomfield and Brenda Bustamante, Boulder. Further survivors include his brother Willie (Mona) Bustamante and his sisters Louise Romero, Mary Garcia, Anne Trujillo and Carol Buist, Longmont; Virginia Lucero, Denver, Bernadette (Joe) Lucero, Las Vegas, NV and Barbara (Jose) Carrasco, Mexico. There are 8 grandchildren that also survive: Anthony, Alejandra, Ray Ray, Aaliyah, Savanah, Venessa, Darian and Dante Bustamante; he is further survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.Vigil services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 3 at Howe Mortuary Chapel.Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 4, at St John the Baptist Catholic Church with Reverend Dennis Cloonan as celebrant.Burial will follow at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
