

Just over 60 years young, his phenomenal life was tragically cut short on October 13th, 2024, at St. Anthonys Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado surrounded by family.
John attended Frederick High School and grew up in the Tri Town area for most of his life.
After working with his father at Bennetts for the early part of his adult life, he began his journey into the trash industry in 1992 as a driver for Best Trash and finished his career with Republic Services in February of 2024 where he made lifelong friends and memories.
John enjoyed so much in life from bowling to cheering for his beloved Denver Broncos as well as the Nuggets, Avs, and Rockies. He also enjoyed life with his wife from riding his Harley, going to concerts with his wife and kids, and spending time with family out at the racetracks. His dogs meant the world to him as well.
John always wanted to support other people in anything they were doing, such as sports, fundraisers and charities. His laugh and smile would light up the room no matter where he was. John was very hard-working and loyal to his work ethic.
John is survived by his wife Janet, his children from his marriage to Wendi; Maryssa, Stephen (Andrea), Katelyn (Bud) and his grandchildren Robert and Kaedence. Also his sister Brenda, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father Leonard Flake and Eileen Allender, also his sister Linda Sasse.
John’s service will be 10/28/24 at 3pm, at Rocky Mountain Church located at 9447 Niwot Rd, Longmont, CO 80503 with a reception to follow.
