Will miss you John, very glad I got to know you. Love you and will never forget you ❤ 

Gramps 
There’s so many memories I have of you, the earliest memories I have are you and uncle Carl playing that game you guys always played on the couch, you always had an electric razor shaving your face moving it round n round in circles, then you would go out back and pick us the best cucumbers I’ve ever had from your garden.  I know you were never whole again after grandma passed so I am so glad you two are back together again.  It’s really hard walking past your bedroom now and not seeing you in there.  I love you gramps and miss you!  I can still hear the way you would say that back. 

Uncle John always seemed in good spirits. He always said what was on his mind, especially if it had anything  to do with Republicans.  You never had to guess where he stood on certain subjects.  He made us all smile as he chatted about what was going on in the world around us and gave his take on how he felt about it.  What a great guy!

I will miss Jon, I miss seeing him smile asking me how I was doing and him always telling me how he did at his poker nights. He was always so willing to help no matter what was going on. I will forever be thankful that I got to meet him and thank him for all he has done for us. My memories of our time with him will always be so heartwarming and I’m sorry I didn’t get to say goodbye .  He was/is a true patriot to our country . Rest in heaven with ruby, You deserve it Jon. 

I am John's sister Mary. I am 13 years younger  than John. The first memory I have of John is when we lived in Saint Albans, West Virginia near the railroad tracks. John was there at our house when my brother Bert was there. Bert was home on leave from the Navy. I just remember both being there at the same time. 
The next time I remember John was when he and Ruby came to visit us when we lived on Dry Ridge, out in the country from St. Albans in a house that my Dad built. Ruby was expecting her first child.
Then after John and Ruby moved to Ft. Madison, Iowa we moved there too and I would baby sit their children.
John used to go fishing off a river bank while in Iowa and I loved when I could go and just stay there on the river bank with everyone who would go. 
He had many card games at his home in Burlington, Iowa. I loved going there to see him and Ruby and the children.
John was such a wonderful brother to me. He was very kind and would help out any time he could. 
When our Mother was in Charleston, West Virginia in the hospital, and my Sister Ruby was ill with a bad virus, John sent money for her to go to the doctor.
Nick and I and our children stayed with John and Ruby one year when they lived in Golden, Colorado while we were on vacation. Our son Jeff and their son Bobby were the same age.
You could always depend on John. I always Loved him very much.
I will cherish the many, many years seeing him and Ruby and his family at the family reunions at Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri and the many times in recent years he drove the motor home by himself to meet and see us there.
I appreciate his daughter Naomi and all the many years she was his rock. Always there, always helping and caring for her Mom and Dad. We always felt welcome at Naomi and Rusty's home.

I only had the pleasure of knowing you for about 12 years, but there sure were some good memories. We sure did play a lot of poker together. I wished I could have had some memories with you hunting and fishing, but I will have the joy of hearing of your epic adventures through all the family that loved you so much. I am so thankful my kids had the pleasure of knowing you for as long as they did. I hope some of that stubborn Henderson blood will live on in my children.  I also had the pleasure of hearing you say you loved me and my family days before you passed. We love you Gramps! 

Great Uncle John  you were my favorite . So many stories I could tell. You had just drove to granny's  from Denver  for Turkey season  so you told Rusty and I to go a certain way  and you would go the other way and would meet in the middle  shu some Turkey's into one another. So we took off went a long way in the timber and was coming back around when we stopped on a hill. I said Look Rusty there is something under that Tree rusty looked and  said  that's John I said surly not so we scamper down there. Yup it was him sound a sleep under that tree. So I said let's take his pants shoes and socks, watch ,wallet  ect ect. So I started taking his pants off but he moved a little. We dropped that idea taking something was better than him waking up and catching us. We took his shoes 👞  watch ⌚  wallet ,keys, shot gun. Left his socks on cause he was really deep in the timber didn't want to hurt him we already knew our butt's were in BIG TROUBLE . Rusty and I got back to the house with all his stuff gave it to Aunt Ruby she laughed her butt off and said he will get even. Not to long after that here he came kinda hobbling along a HORNET was never this MAD he came thru the front door Rusty and I flew out the back door hiding behind the smoke house 🏠 laughing and kinda scared at the same time. He figured out it was us, I would say every step in his socks thru the timber he cussed us 🇺🇸 😏. All he said was I WILL GET EVEN.  He actually did nothing thru out all those year's  but he did get even.  Anytime I was around Uncle John I was always looking listening smelling lol for something but nothing happened I was always on guard 💂‍♂️  but he did nothing I mean on guard till his passing. Now that's how you start a TURKEY SEASON  🦃🦃🦃🦃No Nephew could ever have a better Uncle in the world 💙 ❤LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU ❤  GREAT UNCLE JOHN SAVE SOME TURKEY'S FOR ME IN HEAVEN.

Dad, I miss you so much! You have lived with us for a long time and so happy that I have so many memories. They will never be forgotten. My heart is broken. I know you are finally with Mom. I miss you telling me that you love me and me telling it back to you. I miss walking past your room and looking in to check on you. I still look in your room but with tears in my eyes. I miss hearing Fox news on your tv all the time (go Trump!). There is so much of you that I miss. I am so blessed and proud to call you "my Dad". I love you!

Sweet Gramps I love you so much.  You were the best Gramps anyone could ask for.  I love and miss you. I know Granny and Mom were waiting for you with open arms.  Thank you for being the best Gramps and Great Gramps to all of us. 

Gramps, it has been a couple of weeks since you have passed, and I still miss you every day.  Your smile was contagious and I looked forward to seeing it every time we would visit.  I will never forget how passionate you were about everything in life, from politics to poker.  I know you are in heaven, celebrating with Granny that you are finally reunited. I am one lucky girl having you two watching over me and my family and have been very blessed to call you Grandpa all of my life.

"I love you, so so much." The last words I got to hear Gramps say to me. I have so many memories with him it's hard to pick a favorite! I'll always remember going to Cheers and eating fried mushrooms and chicken tenders and sharing stories while waiting on a game to start. Or going up to the casino and getting him a hamburger while he played poker. I loved hearing his stories, like about how him and Granny met.💙 He was so loved by so many people. I know he is looking down on us . The world feels different without him in it, but I know he is with loved ones and playing poker high in the skies.💙
