Jon was in the construction business nearly his entire life, starting out in North Dakota in his teens and working different places around the country before he settled in Colorado in 1984. Jon was an entrepreneur and owned and operated several businesses over the years. His latest venture was a steel erection company that he started with his son Jason in 2012. In 2016 his other son Kris joined the business and Jon was able to partially retire and work only when he wanted to, which was nearly all the time as Jon always loved to work.

In addition to his family and his work, Jon’s other love was racing. Jon worked on sprint car teams in his younger years and was the flagman for Bismarck Raceway in the late 70’s and early 80’s. But Jon’s true passion was “Racings with the Boys”. Jon was a critical part in the many wins and championships he shared with his son Jason’s drag racing team and his grandson Austin’s sprint car team. Jon will be so missed by his racing family that had been such a big part of his life.
