Kathryn M. Hale

Kathryn Kathy Matlack Hale of Estes Park, passed away on May 31, 2017 in Fort Collins, CO following a brief illness. She was 76 years old.Kathy was born on February 18, 1941 in Longmont, CO to James F. and Ganel (Stuart) Matlack. She attended Longmont High School; and graduated from Boulder High School in 1959. Kathy then attended the University of Colorado.She married Robert H. Hale in 1961. He was an officer in the US Air Force and the family lived in many locations during his military career, finally settling in Clinton, MD. Kathy and Robert later divorced.Kathy worked in the banking industry in Maryland. She moved to Estes Park, CO in 1999 to be closer to her family. Kathy generously supported and volunteered for numerous local events and organizations.She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Stuart Allan Matlack.Kathy is survived by her son Jeff (Carla) Hale of Key West, FL and Allenspark, CO; her daughter Debbie (Roy) Spitzer of Fort Lupton, CO; and her grandchildren Holly, Tom and Maggie Spitzer.A private graveside service will be held at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery. Friends and neighbors are invited to a reception in her memory from 2:00-5:00 PM Thursday June 8, 2017 at the Other Side Restaurant 900 Moraine Ave. Estes Park, CO 80517.
