Kay Green left in search of new adventures on March 11, 2022. Kay was born on December 28, 1936 in Vernal, Utah where she grew up, graduated high school, and met the love of her life. After getting married in 1955, she and her husband Jerry spent some time in Baltimore Maryland where Jerry served in the Army and Kay worked as a secretary for a Colonel in the Army. After spending some time in Michigan, they moved back to Jerry's home state of Colorado, to Boulder, where Kay started raising her four daughters. In 1972, Kay and Jerry decided to move their girls out to a farm in Berthoud. Kay was very active in the Berthoud Community right from the start. She volunteered in all of the schools elementary through high school. She also was one of the founding members of the Berthoud Arts and Humanities Alliance, as well as one of the first organizers of the Berthoud Arts and Crafts Fair. Kay was also involved in the Berthoud Historical Society, owning one of the oldest homes in Berthoud which was built in 1876, which she and her husband and four girls lovingly restored in 1972. Kay was a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints and served in many capacities and held many leadership positions where she was an example of love and goodness. She was also a volunteer in the Berthoud Library for a number of years. Kay was an amazing Artist and was well known in the Northern Colorado art world for her gorgeous landscapes and had just been a featured artist in a gallery in Loveland in October 2021. Kay was never happier than when she was traveling around with her family. She had been to Europe several times, the Caribbean, Canada, Mexico and all fifty states and she made friends everywhere she went.
Even though Kay fought an eight year long battle with cancer, she was always upbeat and optimistic with never a complaint. She is survived by her four daughters: Koleen Green and Kathleen Gruman of Berthoud, Kerry Lynn Humrich of Conroe Texas and Kelly Lind of Fort Collins. She has nine grandchildren who loved her dearly, and one great grandchild. She is also survived by her sister Colleen Mandala of Hawaii. Kay was greatly loved and will be incredibly missed.
