Kay Lawrence Young, 84, of Longmont, CO passed away January 28, 2015. Kay was born on June 4, 1930 in Colorado Springs, CO to George Mortimer and Ethel Lillian (McLearen) Young.Kay was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the United States Army. He married Flora D. Erkman in 1980.Kay was employed with IBM for 25 years. He was a member of the Mead United Methodist Church. He enjoyed square dancing, hunting, fishing and camping along with racing cars.Kay is preceded in death by his parents and sister Lois.Kay is survived by his wife Flora, sons Allan, Bill and Ray, daughters Kim, Jodi and Kathy, his sister Gail along with 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Mead United Methodist Church.
