Kenneth Allen Bitters

Kenneth Allen Bitters, age 72, of Longmont, Colorado passed away on Monday, April 17, 2023 at his home. He was born September 23, 1950 in Carr, Colorado to June Helene (Thomas) and Charles Allen Bitters.

On June 1, 1969 Kenneth married Rita Rae Quinn and they moved to Longmont. Kenneth earned his GED in December of 1970, prior to being hired by Consolidated Freightways where he worked from the 1970’s until his retirement in 2001.

Over the years he was a member of the Junior Chamber (Jaycees) and was a teamster at Consolidated Freightways.

Ken was a fan of the Denver Broncos, the Colorado Avalanche and the CU Buffalos. He enjoyed attending his girls’ sporting events as they were growing up. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting and was an avid gardener. Ken will be remembered as a very generous man who especially loved Christmas. He always went out of his way to find unique gifts to give. His favorite place to relax and vacation was Hawaii.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents June and Charles Bitters, his wife Rita Rae Bitters and his sister Kathleen Evelyn Bitters Crispe.

Surviving are his daughters Julie Mae (Bitters) Winn (her husband Gregery J. Winn) and Adena June (Bitters) Cohen and his grandchildren Riley Rae Cohen and Alexa Adena Winn.

Cremation is entrusted to Howe Mortuary & Crematory of Longmont, Colorado.
