

Kenneth Robert Lindow, of Longmont, Colorado, died Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at his home. He was 79 years old.Ken was born October 30, 1927 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Robert Ewald and Ida (Bolz) Lindow. He was raised and attended schools in Medford, Wisconsin.In 1945, Mr. Lindow enlisted in the US Navy and served as fleet sonar operator aboard several destroyers. Upon his honorable discharge in 1948, he returned to Wisconsin to begin his civilian life.On May 26, 1951, Kenneth married Shirley Aschenbrenner in Auburndale, Wisconsin. The couple made their home in Wisconsin and Illinois until moving to Colorado in 1979 where all of their six children presently reside. Mr. Lindow was a long distance truck driver for Aaron Equipment of Chicago for many years. He loved the outdoors and could often be found hunting or target practicing. Ken pursued many hobbies such as flying airplanes, skiing, golfing, boating and playing horseshoes with his sons. Ken was an artist who enjoyed photography, painting and music. Most of all, he loved his wife, Shirley, of 55 years, and cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren.Survivors include his wife, Shirley Lindow of Longmont, Colorado; three sons, Robert Lindow and his wife, Sindy, of Erie, Colorado, Richard Lindow and his wife, Shelli, of Arvada, Colorado, and Kenneth Lindow, Jr. and his wife, Valerie, of Arvada, Colorado; three daughters, Ann McConnell and her husband, Robert, of Longmont, Colorado, Jane Gobert and her husband, James, of Denver, Colorado and Victoria Lindow of Erie, Colorado; a brother, Arden Brusten and his wife, Arlene, of Medford, Wisconsin; a sister, Shirley Sparbel and her husband, Jack, of Schofield, Wisconsin; 16 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents. A celebration of his Mr. Lindow?s life will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2007, at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Boulder beginning with Recitation of the Rosary at 9:00 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Michael Gass will serve as Celebrant.
