Leonard Reginald Worland

December 2, 1929 - May 22, 2021

Len was born on December 2, 1929 in Romford, Essex, England to Frederick and Maude Worland . He was the third of four sons. During the war he was evacuated to St. Ives in Cornwall, England. Len started work at the age of 14 with a microscope manufactured in London. He married Beryl (Briggs) Worland October 27, 1956, in Harrow, Middlesex, England. They had 2 daughters, Susan and Sally that were born in England, and their son Stephen was born in Boulder, Colorado. Len and his family came to United States in 1968, first to Massachusetts, then to California, finally settling down in Longmont, Colorado in 1969. Len worked all his life in several aspects of the engineering and manufacturing fields, especially research and development. He worked many years servicing microscopes with his own business for 9 years. Len and Beryl owned Berylen a British food and gift shop. Len also made some excellent chocolate!! Len and his wife were long time members of the Longmont Theater. Len was preceded in death by his wife Beryl, parents, three brothers (Ernie, Fred, Sid), & his daughter Susan. Len is survived by his daughter Sally Wood and husband Dave, one son Steve and wife Lori, three grandchildren Gavin,Britni, & Andrew, as well as four great grandchildren. Len was also a member of the Longmont Elks, & Longmont Masonic Lodge. Donations can be made to the Therapeutic Riding Center and Longmont Theater. An Open House Celebration of Life will be held from 2 – 4pm, June 10, 2021 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Committal will take place at The Saint Stephens Episcopal Church Columbarium following the service.
