Linda Marie Lang

Linda was born on January 15, 1958 in Kingston, New York to Ray and Alberta (Finch) Slauson.

She grew up in upstate New York before moving to Longmont, Colorado, where she graduated from Niwot High School in 1976 and Colorado State University in 1981.

She worked as an interpretive park ranger in southern Utah and Colorado before meeting Marcus Lang, whom she married in Grand Junction on January 1, 1984. They raised two daughters in Cottonwood, Arizona then in Longmont, Colorado. Linda worked as an administrative assistant for the Saint Vrain Valley School District until 2021. In retirement, she enjoyed bird watching and traveling with Marc. She also returned to her love of outdoor education by working part-time for the Cal-Wood Education Center.

Linda was insatiably and contagiously curious. Whether nature, fashion, history, or a new shortcut in Excel, she always wanted to know more. She was ever on the hunt for a good book or a new documentary, and she loved jam-packed trips exploring new places.

Linda was always smiling and full of laughter: her family and friends knew that you could find her in a crowd by her ringing laugh. She was loving and selfless. Linda spent years attending every recital, track meet, and school event for her daughters and later caring for her mom and dad. She inherited her parents’ knack for making everyone feel welcome and their penchant for preparing twice the amount of food needed for any gathering.

Linda is survived by her loving husband Marcus of Longmont, CO, her two daughters Jaclyn (Pedro Lemos) of Philadelphia, PA and Megan (Alban Sauret) of Washington, DC, her brother Tom Slauson (Nik Groesser) of Tuscon, AZ, and her sister Jane Slauson of Longmont, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service followed by a reception will be held on Monday, April 28 at 1:30 p.m. at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
