

Lynn Kelliher of Longmont died August 15, at her residence after a brief illness. She was 66.Lynn was born on May 26, 1944 in Culver, Pennsylvania to Alan Kerr and June Oversby Kerr. Raised in Ebensberg, Pennsylvania, she graduated from high school in 1962. She attended Mount Aloysius Junior College and the Clearfield Hospital School of Nursing. Lynn entered the U.S. Army to provide for veterans. She first worked on the front lines in Vietnam, assisting as a surgical nurse in a number of MASH units. Lynn received the Army Commendation Medal for her service in Vietnam. Following that war, she would transfer to Germany, where she and Joe met.On December 16, 1973 she married Dr. Joseph Kelliher in Basil, Switzerland. The couple would return to Denver, before moving to Longmont in 1975.Lynn worked for a number of years in nursing, serving Longmont United Hospital and several doctor's offices. She would later join Peaks Care Center as their Assistant Director of Nursing. In 2009 she retired as Director of Nursing.Preceding her in death are her parents.Surviving are her husband of Longmont; a son Kristopher Kelliher of Alamosa, a daughter Kim Kelliher of Longmont; and three sisters, Deborah Kerr of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Phyllis (Kirk) Brown of York, Pennsylvania, Terry (Dave) Gallardy of Ebensberg, Pennsylvania.A cremation has been entrusted to the Howe Mortuary and Crematory.Services will be held at 5:00 p.m., Friday, August 20, at the Howe Mortuary Chapel, with Chaplain Kathy Hedderman officiating.Contributions may be made to Vietnam Veterans of America, 8719 Colesville Road, Suite 100, Silver Springs, MD. 20910 or the Longmont Humane Society, 9595 Nelson Road, Longmont, CO. 80501
