

Madonna Donna Jean CurtisApril 5, 1949 “ March 6, 2016Madonna Donna Jean Curtis passed away March 6, 2016 at her residence at the age of 66.Donna was born on April 5, 1949 in Denver, Colorado to Bernard and Ruth (Young) Woodman. She grew up in the Denver area and attended St. Bernadette's for Elementary and Middle School before graduating from Cathedral High School in 1967.Donna married Walter Curt Curtis on April 11, 1970 in Lakewood. They came to the Longmont area in 1978 from New York.Donna's joy in life was to be a wife and mother. From 1995-1998 she was assistant director of religious education at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church; 1998-2000 she worked in medical records at Longmont United Hospital; and from 2001-2009 she worked as a medical placement specialist for Medical Match.Donna was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and was active in many ministries. She and her husband Curt started the Adoration program at St. John's; and she was a leader for RCIA Classes, first communion and confirmation.She loved crossword puzzles and reading. Donna was also a master chef and enjoyed cooking big meals for her family. She showed her great love for others by performing acts of kindness and cared deeply for all she met. Donna is preceded in death by her infant daughter Carrie Anne Curtis; her father Bernard; her brother Edward Woodman; and her sister Cecelia Burke.She is survived by her husband Walter Curt Curtis; her sons Kevin (Stacy), Keith (Cheryl), Corey (Amber) and Matthew; her grandchildren Chelsey, Carissa, Jacob, Noah and Levi; her mother Ruth Woodman; her brother Don; her sisters Kay and Diane, numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends.Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm, Thursday, March 10, 2016 with Rosary Prayers at 7:00 pm, all at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, March 11, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with a reception to follow at Benedict Hall. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Theresa Catholic Church Building Fund and sent in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
