Margaret Marjorie Desmarais

Margaret Desmarais of Longmont, died December 8, 2006 at Hospice Care Center, Louisville. She was 92.Margaret was born on May 21, 1914 in Manchester, Connecticut to Joseph Merrigan and Jacqueline Mitchell Merrigan. She was raised in Connecticut.Mrs. Desmarais married Joseph Albert Desmarais on August 15, 1933 in Manchester, CT. He preceded her in death. She later married James Small on June 21, 1980 in Wethersfield, CT. He also preceded her in death. She moved to Longmont from Connecticut in 1991.She was a member of St. John?s Catholic Church, serving with the Alter and Rosary Society for many years. An active member of the Longmont Senior Center, she thoroughly enjoyed many diverse actives at the local center. Sewing and gardening were her favorite pastimes, having raised flowers and vegetables until recently having had to move to the Hover Retirement Community.Also preceding her in death was a daughter Doris Kolby.Surviving are daughters Babs Riley and her husband Mike of Mead, Yvonne Wade and her husband Eugene of Warwick, NY, and Lois Desmarais of Wethersfield, CT, a son Albert Desmarais of Benderville, PA, 11 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.A cremation has been entrusted to the Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services.Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., January 6, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Wetherfield, CT. Interment will follow at the Rose Hill Memorial Park, in Rocky Hill, CT.Contributions may be made locally to the Hospice of Boulder and Broomfield Counties, 2594 Trailridge Dr. E.
