Maria Juanita Gauna

Maria Juanita Gauna, of Longmont, Colorado, died Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at Life Care Center of Longmont. She was 81 years old.Maria was born July 12, 1924 in Florence, Colorado to Charles and Margaret (Montour) Davis. She moved with her family to Longmont in 1928. On May 19, 1957, she married Mr. Jose Trinidad Gauna in Longmont.Maria was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She will be remembered for her kindness and love of family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Cordova and Margaret Mayeda of Longmont, Colorado; one brother, John (Isabel) Davis of Longmont; and several nieces and nephews, including her dearest and closest nephew, Frank Davis of Longmont. She is further survived by seven grandchildren and their families; Michael Ramirez, John (Dena) Gauna, Bruce (Katrina) Ramirez, J.R. Cordova, Emmanuel Cordova; Kathy (Sergio) Villanueva and Jesenia (Jose) Mares; and fifteen great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1997; six brothers; and six sisters.Visitation will be held Friday, April 7, 2006 from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Howe Mortuary. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at Howe Mortuary Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 10 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Longmont. The casket will be closed at the church.
