Marthalee Walker

Marty was born on June 23rd, 1937 in the Town of Union, NY to Leon and

Emily (Hollis) Crawford. She graduated from Alice Freeman Palmer Central

High School in Windsor, NY, in 1955. She married her High School sweetheart,

Douglas C. Walker Sr. on June 16th, 1956. They were married for 58 years.

Marty worked a variety of jobs; everything from a Housewife and Mother to

Bookkeeper and Travel Agent. After both Marty and Doug retired, they spent their time traveling the U.S. by motorcycle. Following that, they chose to manage properties in Estes Park, where they could enjoy the Rocky Mountains. Marty was involved in several organizations; the Ladies of the Elks, Lions, Shriners, and Eastern Star. However, her church was where she loved to serve the most. She was involved in many churches across the U.S. and the last church she called home was Longs Peak United Methodist of Longmont, Colorado. She was always working on the next prayer shawl and had the desire to be in the next Discipleship training. She had to keep her hands and mind active on the things God was leading her to. Marty was preceded in death by her daughter, Wendy Sue and her husband, Douglas Clarence. She is survived by a son, Douglas C. Walker Jr. (Doug) and his wife Kimberly Hughes-Walker; daughter, Deborah (Debbie) Miller; daughter, Elizabeth (Liz) Watson, and her husband Mark; Grandchildren, Andrea Peschel-Walker, Danielle Drury, Austin Drury, Daniel Watson, Steven Watson, Matthew Watson, Timothy Watson; siblings, John Crawford and his wife Elise, Charles Crawford and his wife Sheryl, and Phyllis Crawford. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Marty's life will take place at 11 am on Saturday

November 18th, 2017 at Longs Peak United Methodist Church, 1421 Elmhurst

Dr. in Longmont. Cremation has taken place and Howe Mortuary is handling arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be given to Longs Peak United Methodist Church.
