Mary Hester Boddy

Mary Hester Boddy, 92, of Longmont passed into glory October 4, 2016.She was born March 5, 1924 on the farm near Edmond, Kansas to Louis Harting and Hildred (Zimmerman) Harting. She attended rural schools in the area and obtained a Teaching Certificate in 1943. Mary taught one year at Lincoln School near Densmore, KS.She married Rowland Boddy on June 1, 1943 in Norton, KS. They farmed in the area for ten years, moving to Fountain, CO and then to Hygiene, CO for 40 years. Mary and Rowland operated service stations around Lyons, CO from the early 1960's until 1975 under the name of Lyons Oil and Fuel. She moved to Longmont in 1992.Mary was a member of New Creation Church in Longmont. There she taught the two year old class for many years. She enjoyed her family, gardening, canning and reading.She was predeceased by her husband Rowland, son Ronald, son-in-law Tom, her parents, sister Sylvia Voss and brother Frank Harting.Mary is survived by her ten children Grace Kanani (Rodgers) of Wiggins CO, David Boddy (Judy) of Greeley CO, Leroy Boddy (Sharon) of Loveland, CO, Betty Jantz (Allen) of Ph nix AZ, MaryNell Schwindt of Berthoud CO, Robert Boddy (Debbie) of Ellensburg WA, Alice Evans (Scott) of Norton KS, Rita Peters (Kevin) of Longmont, Carol Bourn of Evergreen, CO, Richard Boddy (Kristi) of Berthoud CO and their families which includes 30 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, sister Genola Offner (Kenny), brother Roger Harting (Penny) and many cousins, nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held 4:30 to 7:00pm Friday, Oct. 7, 2016 at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Funeral service 2:00pm Saturday Oct. 8 at New Creation Church. Interment at Foothills Gardens of Memory. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to New Creation Church Missions Fund.
