Mary Francine Davis, born July 3, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 16, 2025, at the age of 81. A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Mary’s warmth, resilience, and sense of humor touched all who knew her.
Mary and Ray were married in August of 1964 and in 1968 moved from Illinois to Wheatridge Colorado to be closer to her family. Ultimately, they moved with their 3 children to their farmhouse in Frederick in 1978 to pursue a quiet but busy farming life. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, crafting, jazzercise and spending time with her friends and family.
Her life was marked by quiet strength, devotion to her family, and a deep sense of compassion. She faced life’s joys and sorrows with grace, including the heartbreaking loss of her son, Matthew J. Davis, in 1987 — a tragedy that only deepened her empathy and unwavering love for those around her.
She is survived by her loving children, Thomas Davis and his wife Maria and Katie Davis and her husband Dave, who carry forward her legacy of kindness and resilience. Mary was a devoted grandmother to Marissa Davis-Orban, Patrick Davis, Benjamin Davis, Megan Eisenach, and Sarah Eisenach. Her great-grandchildren — Beatrice “Buzzy”, Thomas, Brayden, and Lily. She is also survived by her brothers Robert, Jim, Ted, Richard, and Ronald Kocol, as well as her sister Dorothy Mashburn.
Mary's memory will be cherished for her boundless love, and the way she always made space for others — at her table, in her heart, and in her life. Her legacy lives on in the family she adored and the countless lives she impacted with her loving spirit.
A celebration of life will be held to honor her life and legacy at Ahlberg Funeral Home on November 14th at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Mary’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
