Michael Steven Ratliff

Michael Steven Ratliff, 64, passed away at his home July 4, 2017.He was born December 21, 1952 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Lloyd W., Sr. and Patsy R. (Ahl) Ratliff. He moved with his family to Colorado when he was a baby. They lived in various places until settling in Lafayette. Mike graduated from Lafayette High School in 1971.Mike married Beverly Sherratt in 1972, and they moved to Longmont. They later divorced.Michael worked for Public Service/Xcel Energy for 35 years as a fitter serviceman. He retired on July 19, 2010.He was a member of the Elks and Moose.Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and black powder shooting. He saw the world on his motorcycle, until his health no longer allowed him to ride. He enjoyed watching old westerns on TV and reading western books. Mike loved spending time with his three girls.He was preceded in death by his father.Mike is survived by his daughter Jennifer Ratliff-Townson, two granddaughters Alyse (Aly) Ratliff and Lainey (Bug) Townson, mother Patsy Ratliff, brother Biff Ratliff (Deborah), sister Susan Bender (Randy) and several nieces, nephews and other family and friends.A Celebration of Michael's life will be a gathering of family and friends from 4:00 to 6:00pm Friday July 14, 2017 at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
