

Mildred Morton Cunningham passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the age of 83 in Longmont, CO. She is the daughter of Lacy and Viley Morton born April 25, 1933 in Crewe, VA.She is survived by her daughter, LeighAnn Cunningham Moore of Longmont, CO and five Grandchildren, Mark Alan Cunningham, Jr., Matthew Ray Cunningham, Michael Paul Cunningham, Elizabeth Caroline Cunningham, Mark LaRue Moore and one Great Grandchild, Caroline Rose Cunningham. She was expecting her second Great Grandchild in January 2017.She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Edson Harold Cunningham, Jr., and her other three children, Edson Harold Cunningham, III, Mark Alan Cunningham, Sr., and Tracy Karen Cunningham.She spent her life loving, caring and giving for her husband, children and her extended family of dear friends. During that time, she served on a committee for the Westgate Women's Club, a community volunteer program in Manassas, VA. She worked as a secretary for Mutual of Omaha in Manassas from 1977 to 1988. She enjoyed the games of Cribbage and Bridge for fun, was an avid reader, a very skilled seamstress and talented crafter in needlepoint and knitting. She donated many hats she hand made for premature newborns to the local hospitals in the communities she resided.After her children were grown, she and her husband retired in Surfside Beach, S.C. for 25 years. There she served as President of the ˜Newcomers Club that supported new residents to the area. She moved to Colorado in February 2012 to be close to her two daughters.Mildred was and always will be loved by so many whose lives she touched through her journey here with us. She is and always will be referred to as our little southern peach. I love and miss you Mom.Memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM, Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
