Nancy was born on October 16, 1945, in Boulder, CO, to Lillian Grace & Bernard H Brush. She grew up on a dairy farm east of Boulder. She attended grade school and Jr. high school in Rural Boulder County. She graduated from Fairview High School in Cherryvale and then attended Graceland College in Lamoni, IA. Nancy returned to Boulder and took a job working for a magazine subscription company. Two years later, she started working for her step father at Judson Flying Service at the Longmont airport, where she met her future husband Leonard Helfrich. They were married on November 28th, 1970. Nancy started a day care center and operated it for 12 years. She and Leonard moved to Canyon City, CO, for 8 years before moving back to Loveland, CO. Leonard and Nancy were married for 48 years until Leonard’s death in 2018. All through her life, Nancy was a kind, generous and thoughtful person, loved and missed by all that knew her.
