Nancy Rae Sherwin

Nancy Rae Sherwin, 73, of Longmont, Colorado, formerly of Platteville, Wisconsin passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Longmont United Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer and several years of multiple complications.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 31, at LifeBridge Christian Church, 10345 Ute Highway, Longmont, CO 80504. Howe Mortuary is assisting the family. Graveside services and burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Platteville, Wisconsin at a later date.

Nancy was born on February 5, 1944 in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond C. and Jean L. (Hall) Smith. She married Richard K. “Dick” Sherwin on January 24, 1963 at the First Methodist Church in Platteville, Wisconsin.

Nancy graduated from Platteville High School in 1962. She was a devoted wife and mother as well as a dedicated homemaker, caring for husband Dick of 51+ years and their children Tim and Robb and grandson Nick.

Survivors include her two sons; Timothy Sherwin of Longmont and Robb (Anna) Sherwin of Evans, Colorado; a grandson Nick Sherwin of Longmont; brother Jim (Nancy) Smith of Morrison, Colorado; two brothers-in-law, Jerry (Elaine) Sherwin of Cuba City, Wisconsin and Ken (Marge) Sherwin of Richland Center, Wisconsin, her nephews, Aaron (Jennifer) Smith and their daughter Rylie of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Bradley (Tracey) Sherwin and their son Connor of Waterloo, Iowa, Kimberly (Mark) Gehrke of Elburn, Illinois, Scott Sherwin of Richland Center, Wisconsin and children Bailey, Bryce, Sophie and Paige, and Kelly Sherwin (Lewis Fader) of Warrens, Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard K. “Dick” Sherwin on April 6, 2014; parents Raymond C. Smith and Jean L. Smith; her brother Larry Smith; in-laws, Guerdon Sherwin and L. Jeanette Sherwin.
