Family of Norman Barnes: I was very saddened to hear of the untimely passing of Norman.  I began doing business with Norman 35 years ago and he was always extremely helpful & knowledgeable.  He was a really good guy & you have my deepest sympathy.

Hi Mary Ann,  Don Diemer and I were so sorry to hear of Norm.  We met him the first time in Longmont at an irrigation supply auction. Maybe 1991 or 2. We new from the start he was an excellent human being, and he never disappointed. We depended on his common sense advice and  appreciated all he shared. We sent everyone we knew to him for their irrigation needs.  We will always think of him and miss him. Thinking of you during this sad time. Mary Ann, our prayers and thoughts are with you during this sad time.  We had not heard of Norm's death prior to your e-mail.  Harlan worked with Norm in Sheldon, Iowa for several years at the Motor Supply Company.  He remembers that Norm was the kind of guy you loved being around.  He was such a friendly, caring person, who you could count on to be a good friend. We have been sharing e-mails for several years.  He will be missed.

Having only met Mr. Barnes maybe three times many years ago he symbolized integrity and what true Americans are made of. His passing  marks how temporal life on earth is for us all.  The Apostle Paul in the scriptures, particularly in Romans through Galations and Ephesions edifies the free gift of Grace and where eternity will be spent.  While our current residence is here on earth our permanent citizenship is in heaven if we so choose.  It seemed as if Mr. Barnes chose that citizenship.  While the grieving takes place on earth we can all rest in comfort that eternal life hereafter will be in true peace seated next our Lord and Savior. My respect goes to all the Barnes' family.

Hearts in grief must seek relief in memories and tears..."" I was so saddened when Doug called and told me about Norman's passing. Then I sat down and thought of the wonderful memories, especially from the last several years. Norman, Mary Ann, Marlene, Harry, Ron, and I had so much fun for two years in a row  in Colorado. We all laughed so much our cheeks hurt. Now within the last year we lost Marlene and Norman. Thank God for the memories. Norman had such a good sense of humor, was kind and generous. We had lots of conversations on the phone a couple times a month, more often when the family reunion was being planned. Joan and I couldn't decide about the trip because of our mother's health. Looking back, I am so glad Doug and Norm planned the reunion and we all got together. Norm often talked about his sons and wanted us to meet them. That reunion will always be ""cherished"". In love and sympathy, Marsha and Ron.

Dear Mary Ann & Family, I am so very saddened to hear of the loss of our dear cousin Norman. Our daily thoughts and prayers go out to the entire famiy during these difficult days. What fond memories I have of spending some summers on the farm with the Barnes family and always loving my Aunt Emma, Uncle Ed, Norman, Donna, Judy and Doug. And I am so thankful for the time we had with Norman and all our cousins this past July at the Barnes-Hollander reunion in Storm Lake, Iowa. Norman was as kind, gentle, and loving as I always remembered him to be. And his sense of humor kept us laughing throughout the days we shared together. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the friends and family.  The times I met Mr. B were memorable!  He didn't say much, but what he had to say mean't something!  He was a person you respected.  Quiet and strong.  He kept Kim well grounded and in touch with reality.  I believe he was paying him up to $5.25 per hour to help on the farm.  Losing a father or loved one is never easy.  Remember the good times and take solace in the fact that you will meet again in a better place.  God bless.

One of my earliest fond memories was when Norm had the 4-Wheel Drive JEEP waggon, and we went up into the Rockies when I was about 9 or 10 yrs old, Norm made it fun with his entusiasm and humor, he will be missed. Love Mark

Mary Ann & family.  Norm will be missed very much.  He was a good friend for many years.  We always enjoyed his humor.  An easy person to be around and successful in not only family life but also in his business life.  Our prayers and thoughts are with you at this time.

Norm was such a gentle and kind guy and was just a wonderful down to earth person.He was hard working and fun loving and cared deeply for his family and friends.
