Norman Sutherland

Norman ""Bud"" Sutherland of Sterling, Colorado died Sunday, August 24 at the Sterling Regional Medical Center. He was 84.Bud was born August 27, 1923 in Arriba, Colorado to Harry W. and Edna (Woodcock) Sutherland. He served in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946 and was discharged as a Motor Machinist's Mate Third Class.Bud married Betty Joyce (Davis) McNeill in Longmont on April 1, 1972.His parents, a brother Vernon, and six sisters preceded Mr. Sutherland in death: Edith, Irene, Ethel, Betty Joyce, Esther, and Melva.Bud is survived by two sons: Harry Sutherland and his wife Linda of Michigan and Richard Sutherland of Nunn, Colorado; a daughter, Shirley Kerrisk of Broomfield, Colorado; a brother, Robert Sutherland of Lyons, Colorado; sister-in-law Erma Sutherland of Dacono; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.A graveside memorial service will be held on Friday, August 29 at 1:00 p.m. at Foothills Gardens of Memory. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services.Memorials may be given to Children's Hospital Foundation, 13123 East 16th Avenue, Box 045, Aurora, CO 80045 or St. Joseph's Hospital, 1835 Franklin Street - Denver, CO 80218.
