Patricia Bernadine Brosnan was born July 5, 1957, in Salina, KS, to parents James A. and Mildred N. Brosnan. She had 3 older sisters, Mary, Audrey and Joy Hinderliter. She was indeed in spirit a firecracker without hitting the exact date. When she was still very small, her father, serving in the U.S Airforce, contacted polio. His family had to move to Denver so he could be near Fitzsimmons Hospital for care. James and Mildred built a wheelchair accessible house in the early 1960’s in Longmont. Patricia was sent to private schools. She was an avid fan of all things equine. She had a large Breyer Horse Model collection and enjoyed riding and playing with her many horses over the years, starting with her little palomino pony Jimmy Joe. She would take him into the family room where her mother would feed him mint lozenges. She had many pets over the years, rabbits, cats and dogs as well as her horses. Her rabbits in the professional shows and at the local fair earned her many ribbons. Her first job was with Furr’s cafeteria in Longmont. Patricia would go on to be an exceptional baker and worked at venues such as King Soopers, Cakes by Karen and Walmart Bakery. Her quilting and crocheting were a thing of beauty. Reading was a lifetime hobby. Through World of WarCraft, Patricia connected with many people across the county. She enjoyed playing the piano and later took guitar lessons. She enjoyed traveling to Missouri to see her aunt Nettie Caldwell and attend family reunions. On one such trip she met a computer expert by the name of Lloyd McKenzie. After a long-distance relationship, in April of 1987 the two were married in Longmont and she moved to Missouri as his bride. The following February, they welcomed their only daughter, Amanda Jean. The following year, twins Mark and Neil were born. Their busy lives welcomed son James two years later. When the health of her parents declined, the couple moved their family to her hometown of Longmont, CO in 1997. Her parents had divorced. They would move in with James to help care for him while Joy took care of their mother. After his death, she worked doing medical billing at Pharmerica and at a call center for IBM in Boulder until her daughter Amanda’s health deteriorated and she needed more care. After Amanda passed at age 23, Patricia began considering options for starting her own bakery and did some special orders on the side. Lloyd passed suddenly in 2023. Patricia took over running his eBay business until her passing on December 20, 2025 after a short illness. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd, daughter Amanda, siblings Audrey Lutz and Joy Hinderliter, brother-in-law Eldon Constable and nephew-in-law Jesse Jenson. Those left to miss her fiery personality are her sons Mark, Neil and James, sister Mary Constable, niece Colleen (Jay) Ochoa, niece Sheri (Matt) Trevino, niece Sheila Constable, nephews Rodney (Sarah) Constable, Robert A. Lutz and Brice Lutz. She leaves behind many great nieces, nephews, friends and fur babies. Services are pending cremation. Memorials to the charity of your choice.
