Today marks 3 years since Dad has been gone and father's day as well. My Dad is in my heart every day and I always miss him. I love you Dad.

Still can’t get my head around Paul being no longer amongst us, he was such a vibrant, intelligent, compassionate person. 

Still truly missed.

We remember a cheeky young man with an infectious smile throughout his teen years and during his time at Surrey University. 

When we visited our son Mark at university we took Mark and Paul  and few other students for food and drinks at the Horse and Groom in Guildford, a very happy and memorable evening, Paul smiling as always. 



Paul was my best friend for 40 years, and we were at school, college and university together. My future wife and I were at his wedding, and he was at mine. Paul was a constant friend, the person I relied on, whilst we were young together, and as we reached out into the world.
 It is difficult to express in mere words the many and deep values and qualities that Paul had, many of them rarely found in our fellow humanity. Everyone reading these messages will know that of course, as you knew and loved him too - and many of you were in considerably closer contact than I was in recent years, to my profound and ever-lasting regret. I guess I always assumed we would catch up very soon, and never imagined any alternative in someone so full of life.
My sincere best wishes to his wonderful family and many friends at this most difficult of times.

Paul and I worked together at Dot Hill Systems.  At  one point at Dot Hill, we had just lost our largest OEM customer, and we were working hard to win business away from an incumbent at another data storage company.  While in the final stages of the bidding process, Paul and some of the other key software engineers were up in Fort Collins, working real-time resolving bugs and demonstrating our desire to win the account.  I believe that the contributions from Paul and others were key to winning that account, which allowed Dot Hill to continue to thrive, ultimately ending up in Dot Hill Systems being acquired by Seagate.  I will be forever indebted to Paul for his contributions to our joint success, and want his children Jennifer, Katherine and Miles to know that Paul was a great software engineer, and I appreciate all he did on our behalf.  Thanks Paul, you are missed.

I first met Paul when I was 11yrs old and his family moved to Shedfield . My entire teenage years were spent at their house watching Paul and Mike tapping away on their computers in what was to me a completely foreign language but I didn’t care . I have such fond memories of those years which only feel like yesterday . He would develop amazing things back then on the computer so was always destined to make his name in the IT industry and that he did . In our teenage years Paul gave me my Ashmore nickname “Sony” which has remained to this day but only for the sole use of an Ashmore .
Whilst we lost touch in our 30s the positive aspect of Facebook brought us back in touch in our 40s for which I am so grateful despite him teasing with his skill of sausage roll baking I was always too far away to be a recipient! 
My heart goes out to his children , Linda Derek Mike Richard and David he was a son brother dad and he was my friend . You will be missed by so many Paul - your forever Sony x
