Phyllis Maxine Drake

Phyllis Maxine Drake, of Boulder, Colorado, went to be with her Lord on November 5, 2007. She died at ManorCare in Boulder at the age of 73.Born March 7, 1934 in Fort Collins, Colorado to Robert E. and Delna (Cook) Sidney, Phyllis grew up on her family?s dairy farm near Bellvue. She graduated from Cache la Poudre High School in 1952, and from Central Business College in Denver the following year.On December 27, 1953, Phyllis married Charles R. Drake in Fort Collins. The couple made their home in Fort Collins where Phyllis worked as a veterinary assistant at Colorado State University. The Drakes moved to Boulder in 1968 where they owned and operated The Printery (later renamed Printline) for 27 years.Mrs. Drake was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Boulder, and a faithful Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) member.Phyllis enjoyed planning and preparing for celebrations and holidays almost as much as the events themselves. Birthdays were among her favorite celebrations, and she delighted in baking, decorating and serving her delicious cakes to her family. She was an avid gardener, wonderful cook, and a gracious hostess to all whom visited her home. She thoroughly enjoyed being a grandmother and adored her grandchildren. Her warm smile will be greatly missed by her family and friends.She is survived by her husband, Charles Drake of Boulder; son, Greg Drake and his wife, Judy, of Broomfield; grandchildren, Katy and Jonathan Drake; and a sister, Marilyn Hodgell, of Louisville.She was preceded in death by her parents.Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services, Longmont. Funeral services will be held at First Presbyterian Church, Boulder, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 9, 2007 with Reverend John Hess officiating. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Ft.
