

Regis was born on March 17, 1937, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, to Stefan Bernard and Selma (Lyskava) Mika. He grew up in Linesville, Pennsylvania, graduated from Linesville High School in 1955 and attended Slippery Rock College. After a career of 25 years with IBM, he retired in 1992.
Sue Mika, age 75, was born June 8, 1937, in Meadville, Pennsylvania, to Robert and Irene (Shellito) Stewart. She grew up in Linesville, Pennsylvania, graduated from Linesville High School in 1955 and received her secretarial certificate from Grove City College in 1957. She was active in the Delta Omega Rho sorority, YWCA, Collegian staff, band and choir.
Regis and Sue were married on June 28, 1958, and moved to Longmont in 1966. They loved to travel and entertain, and their happiest moments were spent with family and friends. They will always be remembered for their generosity, kindness, sense of humor and passion for life.
Regis and Sue are survived by their children, son, Ron Mika of Westminster, Colorado; daughters, Jenny Mika Martenson and her husband Roger, and Sandy Mika Swift and her husband, Padraic, all of Denver; and their grandsons, Jack Padraic Swift (Eglin Air Force Base, Florida) and Samuel Mika Swift of Denver; as well as Sue’s sisters, Shirley King and Jane McDermott; her brother, Fred Stewart; their sister-in-law, Dorothy; and their brother-in-law, Fred Tyers. Regis and Sue were preceded in death by their parents; Sue’s brother, Jim Stewart; Regis’ sister, Jean Tyers; his brother Steve Mika; their brothers-in-law Phillip McDermott and Fred King; and their sister-in-law, Joann Mika.
A memorial mass to celebrate the lives of Regis and Sue will be held Saturday, April 13, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s the Baptist Catholic Church in Longmont, with inurnment at Foothills Gardens of Memory. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to TRU Community Care (Hospice of Boulder County), 2594 Trail Ridge Drive East, Lafayette, Colorado 80026.
