
Dick Klein of Frederick, CO passed away on December 10, 2009. He was 78 years old. He was born in Colorado Springs, CO on January 12, 1931 to Donald and Marjorie (Crouse) Klein.Dick's parents moved the family to Lamar, CO where he went to live and work with his Dad on his grandparent's farm. He always said that was one of the most enjoyable times of his life. He loved working on that farm. His Dad eventually moved to Climax, CO to work in the molybdenum mine there. During Dick's senior year of high school, he went to live with his Dad and there he graduated from the Climax high school. He was one of seven seniors to graduate that year. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1953 and returned to work at the Climax mine for the next 33 years. He retired in 1986.On August 15, 1960 he married Sharon K. Hallman of Pueblo, CO. They had a son, Brian ""Eddie"" Klein of Grand Junction, CO and daughter, Diane K. Christie of Firestone, CO. He also has 2 children by a previous marriage; Richard Michael Klein of Eagle River, AK and Donna Ward of San Antonio, TX. Dick and Sharon lived in Leadville, Canon City and Frederick, CO. At the time of his passing he was residing at the Life Care Center of Longmont. Dick was a devoted husband and father. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his family. He loved to fish and be outdoors and travel whenever possible.He parents preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Sharon, a sister Donna Meacham, daughter Diane Christie and her husband Steve W. Christie and their children Miranda and Alyssa; daughter Donna Ward; sons Brian ""Eddie"" Klein and Richard Michael Klein. He is survived by a total of 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.Graveside services will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, at 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2009. Cremation has been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services, Longmont, CO.
