Richard (Rick) Warren of Longmont, Colorado, passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021 at the age of 82.

He was born in 1939 in Flagstaff, Arizona. The family moved to Morenci, Arizona and in 1945 they moved to Enid, Oklahoma. Rick graduated from Enid High School in 1957 and from Phillips University in Enid in 1962 with a degree in Business Administration.

Rick married Judy in 1961. His jobs with Retail Credit, Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and Burroughs Corporation took them to Colorado. They lived in Salida, Leadville, Colorado Springs, and ultimately Sterling. It is here that Rick and Judy raised their daughter Kelly and son Barry.

Rick worked for the Dowis Agency creating computer programs for insurance agency accounting. In 1988 the Dowis Agency was sold to Van Gilder Insurance Corporation where he remained as Operations Manager until his retirement in December 2001. He also served on the Board of Sterling Lumber and Investment until 2020.

Upon retirement, Rick and Judy moved to Estes Park, a place they dearly loved. In 2012 they moved to Longmont, Colorado to be near Kelly and her family. Rick adored his family and his family adored and cherished him. He was a loving husband, father, grandpa, uncle and friend. He loved all sports, especially golf and baseball. He was a huge Oklahoma Sooner fan and loved cheering on the Colorado Rockies. Rick spent countless hours watching his three granddaughters play softball, which he loved to do so much. His sense of humor and quick wit was a joy. His friendliness and love of conversation made everyone feel special. Rick’s knowledge of many different topics was amazing. The most important thing in life along with his family was his love for and faith in Jesus Christ. He read the Bible from start to finish several times and loved doing Bible studies. Rick was a man of great morals and character, and he served as a great role model to everyone.

Rick is preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers.

Rick is survived by his wife Judy of 60 years, daughter Kelly and son-in-law Brian, son Barry and daughter-in-law Lori, and his five adoring grandchildren who were the great joy in his life, Hanna, Halie, Mikalah, Bennett, and Brooks.
