Rita Mae Gross

Rita grew up on a farm in Nebraska. As a teenager, her family moved to Longmont, Colorado. She graduated from Guardian Angels High School and later worked in the office at Joslins Department Store.

On June 18, 1955, Rita married David Joseph Gross. Together, they raised their children in Longmont. She was a wife, mother, and grandmother who valued faith, family, and friendship.

A devoted Catholic, Rita was an active member of her parish and participated in the Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed camping trips with her family, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Rita is survived by her son, Stephen Joseph Gross of Longmont; daughter, Patricia Ann Gross of Longmont; brother, Gerald Spenner of Longmont; sister, Janice Spenner of Aurora, CO; and grandchildren, Kelley Gross and Stephen Gross, Jr.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David; daughter, Christine Marie Kanka; parents, John and Frances Spenner; brother, Norbert Spenner; and sisters, Antoinette Kampschneider and Kathleen Ely.
