Robert Bender

Robert (Bob) R. Bender, 75, passed away on Tuesday, November 15th, 2016 in Longmont, Colorado. Robert was born February 11th, 1941 in Van Nuys, California to William and Alice Bender. In 1949 the family moved to Limon, Colorado. It was there that he grew up and graduated high school. In his early 20’s he joined the Air Force (1963-1967), where he met his wife Margaret Weston. The two were married on February 10th, 1968 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church and had three daughters.

Robert retired from IBM after 29 years. In life he enjoyed many outdoor activities including: sailing, camping, fishing, RVing, gardening, landscaping and woodworking. He was a hardworking man of many talents who could fix anything, and loved his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his wife Margaret of 48 years, three daughters, Barbara (Scott) Inselman of Longmont, Colorado, Charlene (Peter) Deyle of Hartland, Minnesota, Janet (Ross) Rombeck of Loveland, Colorado, and three grandchildren, Addison, Derek and Aidan. Robert is also survived by his two brothers, Thomas and Donald (Donna) Bender, many nieces and nephews, and loving friends.

He will be greatly missed by all, and will be a lasting memory in many hearts.

A memorial mass will be held at St. John The Baptist Church, 323 Collyer St., Longmont, CO at 10:00 am with a reception to follow. A private graveside will be held at Fort Logan at a later date.
