

He was born on March 16, 1925 in Las Animas, Colorado to Paul H. and Edith (Christie) Chambers. Robert lived on a farm where they farmed the land and had a chicken hatchery. He went to Keller Elementary School in Las Animas where his mother taught; he graduated from Campion Academy in Loveland, Colorado; and attended Southwestern Adventist University in Keene, Texas and Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska where he met his wife Jeannine.
Robert and Jeannine Joan Sparks were married at the Central Seventh-day Adventist Church in Denver, CO on September 3, 1950. Robert taught piano, voice, choir and band at Plainview Academy in Redfield, South Dakota from 1951-1956; and voice, choir and electronics at Columbia Academy in Battleground, Washington from 1956-1960. Together they moved to Longmont from Battleground, Washington in 1960. He worked as an Electronics Technician at Hewlett Packard in Loveland, Colorado for 28 years until his retirement in March of 1990.
Robert was a member of the Mountain View Seventh-day Adventist Church in Longmont, Colorado. He enjoyed working in his machine shop, building two homes and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, his brother Bill Baker and his sister Laura Ann Cuccia, brothers-in-law Richard “Dick” Sparks and Roger Sparks.
Robert is survived by his wife Jeannine J. Chambers of Longmont; his daughter Sharon (Allan) Christensen of Longmont; his grandchildren Alison Christensen of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Cara (Daniel) Greenfield of SenMonoram, Cambodia; his great-grandchildren Andrew, Autumn and Alex Greenfield of SenMonoram, Cambodia; sister-in-laws Loa (Bob) Hagelgantz of Bazine, Kansas; brother-in-law Walt (Pam) Sparks of Loveland, Colorado; sisters-in-law Kay Sparks of Longmont, Colorado and Ronna Sparks of Evans, Colorado and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Adventist Frontier Mission – Pnong School Building.
