Robert “Bob” Morgan, 90, of Longmont and Boulder passed away on October 29, 2021 at Boulder Community Health. Born in Denver on August 28, 1931 to Edward and Lucy Morgan, Bob spent his childhood with his family in mining camps in Superior and Erie before the family settled in Boulder.
After graduating from Boulder High School in 1949, Bob enlisted in the Navy, traveling the world and serving his country. Upon his return to Colorado, he spent his career working at the Rocky Flats Plant until his retirement. In 1983, he married his beloved wife, Lucia Jane Morgan, and they shared 38 happily wedded years together before her passing at the age of 89 in August, 2021.
Bob spent his retirement years traveling, visiting with family and friends, and volunteering with the Superior Historical Society, which honored him with the Square Nail Award in 2015. Dedicated to preserving his historical heritage, Bob was proud of being an Italian-American and the son of a Welsh immigrant. A devoted and loving family man, Bob was a shining example of how to show kindness to others, live a life of integrity, and share a spirit of generosity. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all those who had the honor to know him.
