Robert Pittman

Robert Leo Pittman, age 80 of Longmont died Monday, September 30, 2013 at Longmont United Hospital. Mr. Pittman was born December 1, 1932 in Bagley, Iowa to Eldon and Frances (Kinney) Pittman. After graduating from high school Robert joined the U.S. Navy and served from 1949 - 1950. He married Phyllis Berglund in San Diego, CA on October 10, 1950. She died February 10, 2013. Robert and Phyllis moved to Longmont from Iowa in 1971. Robert enjoyed fishing and camping and loved to read. He retired from the maintenance department at CU Boulder.

Survivors include two sons; Rick Lee Pittman and Jeffrey Allan Pittman of Longmont and two daughters; Marcia Slay and her husband Tom of Smith Station, Alabama and Julie Cato of Longmont. In addition, six grandchildren survive; Jeremiah Cato of Enterprise, Alabama, Kelly Askeland of Berthoud, Kevin Askeland of Ft. Lupton, Lacey Pittman of Lafayette, Luke Pittman of Spring Valley, California and Janette Jolls of Maui, Hawaii. Also surviving are 8 great-grandchidren. Robert was proceeded in death by his parents and wife.

At Robert's request no services will be held. Robert and Phyllis will be buried in the Gowrie Township Cemetery in Gowrie, Iowa at a later date. Howe Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
