Robin Zentz

Robin Zentz-Simpson-Woltje, age 50, of Louisville, Colorado, died Saturday October 6, 2007 at Balfour HospiceCare in Louisville. Robin battled eleven months with glioblastoma cancer.Robin was born in San Diego, California on March 15, 1957 to John Lloyd and Donna Irene (Tingler) Zentz. She graduated from high school in Sterling, Colorado in 1975. She married Larry Simpson of Sterling in 1977. They divorced in 1980, but remained lifelong friends.Robin continued her education studying at the College of Medical and Dental Assistants in Denver, graduating in 1979. In 1986 she graduated from Nebraska Western College with an Associates Degree. She then continued at Kearney State College where she received a Bachelors Degree in 1989.In her career she worked as a NICU nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska for eleven years. She also worked for four years as a Pediatric Nurse Assessor for the state of Nebraska helping disabled children get the services they needed. She worked for two years as a coordinator for Project Continuity with the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation, and for several years, worked for Olston Health Services as a staffing nurse and pediatric home care nurse. She left Good Samaritan to become a traveling nurse with Cross Country Travel Corp. Robin also enjoyed volunteering with the Bloodmobile, food pantries and health fairs. Most recently, Robin worked in NICU at Boulder Community Hospital and University Hospital.Robin enjoyed stamping, sewing, crafts, and spending time with family. She also enjoyed walks in the great outdoors. Membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints had been a very important part of her life.Robin was preceded in death by her parents. She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Joyelle Cassel and grandson, Raven Cassel of Louisville; two sisters, Joyce Randall of Covington, Washington, and Bonnie Zentz of Topeka, Kansas; four brothers, David (Tracy) Zentz of Bellvue, Colorado, Ted Zentz of Arcadia, Nebraska, Shawn Zentz of Lincoln, Nebraska, and James (Stacy) Zentz of Litchfield, Nebraska; seven nieces and four nephews.Visitation will be held from noon to five on Thursday, October 11, 2007 at Howe Mortuary in Longmont. Further visitation will be held one hour prior to the service to be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, October 12, 2007, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 701 W. South Boulder Road, Louisville.
