Denzel ""Ron"" Bonney died Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Longmont United Hospital. He was 67 years old. Ron was born on September 9, 1941 in Osceola, Iowa to Denzel and Lois Bonney. He worked for the Longmont Fire Department for 28 years and retired in 2000. Most recently, Ron completed 20 years of service as a reserve deputy for the Boulder County Sheriff's Department.Ron is survived by his daughter Sabrina (Rick) Reigenborn; son Doug (Kortney) Bonney, ex-wife and friend Janice Stugelmeyer; his 4 grandsons Brandon, Donovan, Tyler, and Ryan. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Faith Community Lutheran Church, 9775 Ute Highway 66 in Longmont at 1:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 6857 Paiute Ave., Niwot, CO 80503. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services.
