Ronald L. Olson

Ronald L. Olson of Platteville died February 13, 2011 at Longmont United Hospital. He was 67.He was born September 18, 1943 in Longmont, CO to Ervin and Florence (Pease) Olson. Ronald graduated from Mead High School and attended Lamar Community College and Colorado State University. On December 26, 1992 he married Claudia Olin in Longmont, CO.He was a lifelong Longmont resident. Ronald was the owner and operator of Double O Trucking. He was a member at the Rinn United Methodist Church and the B.P.O. Elks 1055 of Longmont, serving as a Past Exalted Ruler; he was the State Commander of the Sons of the American Legion; and a member of the American Legion Firestone Post # 1985.Ronald enjoyed fishing and hunting, gardening, and was a very creative and artistic person.He was preceded in death by his parents.Ronald is survived by his wife Claudia; three sons, Casey Olson of Lamar, CO, Darin Olson (Denise) of Gillette, WY, and Eric Sprague (Rebecca) of Platteville; one daughter, Gretchen Reynolds (Kyle) of Las Vegas, NV; two brothers, Keith (Lupe) Olson, and Kenny Olson; eight grandchildren, Shanda Ray (Keith), Calan Olson, Taylee Olson, Haydn Olson, Camdon Sprague, Abigail Sprague, Dylan Reynolds, and Alicia Reynolds; one great granddaughter, Sirena Ray; and several nieces and nephews.Memorial service 10:30 AM Friday February 18, 2011 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Cremation at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Memorial contributions to Sons of American Legion Child Welfare Foundation in c/o Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
