

Ruth I. Peters, 93, passed away November 12, 2015, at Safe Harbor Assisted Living in Longmont. She was born July 31, 1922 in Cresco, Iowa to William F. and Lillie (Parchman) Tuerk. She graduated from Cresco High School. Ruth married Marvin Peters on Thanksgiving Day, November 22nd, 1945 and they moved to Longmont shortly thereafter, where they have resided happily for nearly 70 years. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Longmont where she served as a Stephen's Minister, choir member, Sunday school teacher, and in the Ladies Circle. She also was in the American Legion Auxiliary and Bible Study Fellowship. Ruth derived great satisfaction singing in various venues as well as singing hymns with her children. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Carl Tuerk, and sisters Lillie (Tuerk) Buerk, and Dorothy Tuerk. Ruth is survived by her husband Marvin, son Robert, and daughters Linda (Peters) Schupbach, Nancy (Peters) Berryhill, and Mary (Peters) Tague, as well as daughter-in-law Jeanne (Woltman) Peters, sons-in-law Gene Schupbach, Douglas Berryhill, and Gary Tague, 8 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, November 16th, from 4PM to 6PM at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel; with funeral services Tuesday, November 17th at 10AM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
