Samuel S. Harris

Samuel S. Harris, of Longmont, passed away March 23, 2017 at his home. He was 74.He was born March 9, 1943 in Coquille, OR, to Giles and Eva (Fite) Harris. Samuel grew up in Myrtle Point, OR. He always talked about his childhood and the good times with his brothers. Samuel moved to Colorado in 1968.Samuel was a journeyman meat cutter for 50 years and a member of the Denver Area Meat Cutters Union. His hobby was woodworking. He loved working with his hands and made hand crafted items and some furniture.He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, and two brothers.Sam is survived by his wife, Frankie of Longmont; two sons, Don and Justin (J y); daughter, Jamie; step-sons, Shannon, Shawn, and Jeremy Rhea; fifteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother and sister-in-law.Samuel was a wonderful husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He will forever remain in our hearts.A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm, Friday, April 7, 2017 at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
