Sally was born in Duncombe, Iowa, daughter of Percy and Ruth Jones. She grew up in Longmont, Colorado. As a child, she loved spending her summers with her extended family in Iowa. She graduated from Longmont High School in 1954. She worked for Dr. Pat Cavanaugh for 17 years while raising her five children. She foremost loved her Lord, Jesus, her husband, her family, her friends and all the people who surrounded her. She loved to listen and tell stories, especially while sitting at her dining room table and feeding those who came to visit. She was well known for her chocolate chip cookies, and although everyone enjoyed her cookies, they really came for her wonderful companionship. She enjoyed visitors at her Longmont home as well as her cabin, and she truly adored her neighbors. She spent the majority of her time enjoying her large family.
She is survived by her five children: Elizabeth Gerhardt (Michael), Michael Major, Patricia Major Hayden, Marilyn Major, and Charles Major; 13 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband (father of her children) Charles C. Major, her daughter in-law (wife of Mike Major) Becky Ann Major, her second husband, Norton (Cork) Billings, and her siblings, George, Oliver, and Margaret Jones.
